An Evening with Dan proved interesting, seemingly simple work expertly executed

Dan started the evening with demonstrating an oval handle

Moving the tailstock end of the piece between 3 points all in a line allowed Mark to show how an oval handle was produced

just to show the finshed shape

Mark then moved on to produce a small bud vase

Shaping the top

and detailing the body of the vase, prior to sanding and cleaning up the base

And he fnished item

Mark lastly demonstrated a light pull, discussing grits and how fine we should sand and finishing techniques
