John Haxell demonstration.
I wonder what we would do on a club night if it we never had our regular member demonstrators,
it was John Haxell turn tonight and we thank him for it.

There was a good turn out of members to support John demonstrating how to turn a pestle and mortar, as the annual competitions includes a natural edge item john chose to turn the mortar in that style.

John started the demonstration with the mortar turning the blank to round and adding a dovetail in readiness to turn the bowl around and mount on the chuck.

John went on to mount the stock to turn the pestle.

John described how the measurements of the pestle are important to give room enough to hold it and avoid catching the bowl with ones hand when pounding away at the paracetamols.
